Nelsons win ‘highly commended’ for Strategy and Design at top supply chain industry awards.
Last week, Nelsons (Nelsons.net), the UK’s leading provider of natural healthcare products, were the proud recipients of a highly commended accolade at the Logistics and Supply Chain Excellence Awards. Nelsons, based in Wimbledon, London, were shortlisted in the ‘Supply Chain Strategy and Design’ category, helped by their recent successful implementation of SAP and move to third party logistics partners, amongst other improvement projects.
Richard Ellis, Nelsons’ Interim Head of Supply Chain Operations, says “We’ve had a few years of big changes within the Supply Chain Organization and everyone in the team has worked extremely hard to continuously improve and maximize our efficiency and effectiveness. To be recognized so highly by the judges, against some very tough competition, is an award for every person in the department.”
Nelsons implemented a new ERP system into their business and moved warehousing and distribution to third party logistics partners in 2014. Both were huge transformational projects which have reshaped Nelsons’ Supply Chain Organization — processes have been simplified and standardized, quality and consistency run through everything, compliance is reinforced and ultimately efficiency has improved. This has enabled Nelsons to focus on what it does best — provide natural healthcare products for their customers.
